I bought the 600XL @ Christmas for my husband a year ago. He uses the my K-Cup holder with his own special coffee. When this machine works it makes great coffee! HOWEVER and this is a BIG HOWEVER, when a change of size is wanted the machine may deliver 12 oz when 6 oz is requested!!! Not good when you have a small cup overfilling and going all over the counter. Also when choosing the 6 oz size then trying to "exit menu" it changed to the 12 oz size, blinked and delivered (all over the counter AGAIN!). So I figured it was a computer problem, turned machine off and then unplugged it, plugged it in, turned it on, and LOTS of hot water all over the counter, 2 dishtowels soaked!
2. Machine is NOISY heating water
3. Splashes coffee all over counter when making a mug, not when making a travel mug.

Wouldn't you think with all this feedback they would fix these major problems and not just make a 700 series that makes ICED coffee????? Come on Breville you're charging an arm and leg for something that half the people who buy it are having the same problems!!! You are getting a lot of bad press and it doesn't seem like you are paying attention. Embarrassed that I disregarded the negative reviews. NEVER AGAIN!

I was a bit hesitant to order this unit since there were a number of low-rated reviews. After further research it appears these reviews applied to the earlier 600 model and not the BKC700XL I ordered. I haven't had the machine long, but it is beautiful, came with easy to understand instructions and works flawlessly, It is also easy to operate and quiet (which apparently wasn't the case with previous model). I love it and am really glad I went with a K-cup maker - if only the new Starbucks cups were cheaper it would be perfect.

I bought this machine because I've always appreciated Breville products - what a HUGE mistake!! Within 2 weeks of using it, the pump wasn't working properly so all you could get was maybe 4 oz. at a time. We called Breville and were given the run around and had to repeat all the steps (while on the phone) we had already performed per the troubleshooting instructions listed in the manual. The offered to let us send it back but why deal with another crap machine. We just threw it in the trash and went with a cheaper Keurig machine that has been working perfectly since arriving. Don't waste your money - this machine is NOT worth the price!!!!
